Record Store Day is one of my favorite days of the year! It's a great time to meet other "audiophiles" or as I simply call them "Music Lovers." This year I had a clear plan on what I wanted to get---which I sadly did not find. I was looking for The Black Angels "Clear Lake Forest" a brand new LP. Last year I was there early and in line, this year we were running behind. I didn't come home with any music last year but I did come home with some cool stories. I finally met Mike Millett from Broken Rekids, the guy whose site I re-designed. I searched and stood in line for hours, but I finally returned home with something I was pleased with.
Found two Bowie singles "Dancing in the street" with Mick, and "Blue Jean" that came with a blue disc! Dancing in the street had an instrumental B side which I've never heard, and the Blue Jean disc had a B side of "Dancing with the big boys" which I've *also* never heard of before! I came home with my friends and played my new records on my record player and kept the day "vinyl only" in celebration. It was a fun RSD as usual, can't wait 'til next year!
