Awkward photos of me with famous people

At my 2nd Beatle Fair in San Diego (2000, I think) I was able to meet Louise Harrison , George Harrison's sister. My grandma's camera wasn't working right and the expression you see on me (the one that's almost totally flushed out) is of worry that the camera will not work. Thankfully it did, hence this picture.  Weird pasty face captured for a lifetime.  At Joey Ramone's birthday bash in 2011 I met Richie Ramone after the show. I wasn't ready for it, and I was totally stoned and concert high. I was so blazed, all I remember is he was way taller than I ever imagined. I look kind of Muppety.  My friends are I were at a Meet and Greet with Night Ranger in 2013. When I met them I felt compelled to shake all their hands and introduce myself. That went over fine. But when it came time for the picture, I apparently became a distracted toddler.  Don't dream it, be it.

I've officially become "Becca Jones-Starr"!

It's official! I've finally legally changed my name to Becca Jones-Starr!  I've been going by this name since the age of 15 when I discovered and fell in love with rock n' roll. It was a long court process, but it's finally done and legit. My former name was bland and generic in my humble opinion. It feels good to have a name I like and have chosen for myself. Special thanks to Jack St.Jack for helping me with the process. The judge hearing my name change case was very friendly and the court system in Alameda County has been very helpful. On April 12th after my court hearing we had a little party as my "second" / "new" birthday. Davy Jones and Ringo Starr buttons I wore to court. "Made in the shade" Rolling Stones tie I also wore to court. Where did the idea for this name come from?  From my recently updated bio section: "[She] created the name "Becca Jones-Starr" after "the two pe...

Frequently asked questions

I rarely care to talk about my personal life in my mostly music blog. But since my 'coming out' of being transgender recently has sparked a lot of questions from friends. Most of the questions I get are totally understandable ones, but I also get more than enough stupid questions. You wont believe some of the things people have assumed or wondered. I'm not going to be shy, I'm going to put it on the table. I'd rather have a conversation about something and actually address it than deny it and pretend like it doesn't exist.  One of the things I actually do like about my generation is these days it is much easier to discuss things like sexuality, instead of denying what is. I call it "The Talk Show Generation." No matter how you feel about Oprah and the rest, they did open up the world to a discussion. This is for the clarification of all, and for me to continue to be honest about who I am, not to mention proud. How I feel about gender, or more i...
