How to get up close, backstage and even meet the band! My back story  I love the experience of a live show, they are always bright spots in my life. As soon as I started going, my obvious goal was to get close to the performer. My very first concert was The Monkees in 2001 in San Diego California. I was brought into the rock and roll world by Davy Jones, who serenaded me during the show. After that it was endless amounts of interesting luck and fun experiences. Check out my list of all the concerts I've been to. Along the way during my desperate teenage attempts to meet famous people I learned a bunch of useful things. I'd like to pass on this random but helpful knowledge to future generations of new young concert goers. This page is a guide to getting the most at concerts. Went to the charming Book Passage shop and cafe on Saturday July 26th in Corte Madera for a book signing with Rick Springfield ! His new book is called "Magnificent Vibration" and I can't wait to start reading it. He put on a mini show before the signing, and when he took of his jacket to play guitar the ladies in the room went nuts . He performed two songs, forgot the first one but he did play "Jesse's Girl."

The weekend of July 5th and 6th 2014 was an epic weekend of back to back concerts at the Marin County Fair. I didn't plan this on purpose...it just happened that way. A friend for the past few years who works at 107 the Bone generously invited me along. Last year he hooked me and a mutual friend up to "Bone Bash 2013" with Night Ranger, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company. We had epic seats and a meet and greet with Night Ranger. This year I didn't catch them at Bone Bash, but at the fair. When my friend invited me out again I was like "Hell yeah" and THIS time I'm going to get a better picture.      I often joke that I am not photogenic and I accidentally make weird faces in photos. This especially bugs me when I'm meeting a band, because I forever have to look at myself being a doofus. July 5th we headed to the fair for my day one of concert madness.  All of us have those idols we scribble down on our bucket lists to meet. Since I've been a kid two things have ruled my life: Star Wars and Rock n Roll. From a young age I took a hard mental note on who were my all time favorite rock stars and the ones I had to meet before I croaked. July 6th 2014 I was able to cross off my favorite rock and roll goddess....Joan Jett. One of the best things about working in music and with "music people" are the connections you build. I'm not talking business, but that too,  just connections (in the "hippie dippy" way). A few years ago as many of you know I started working with The Gits , which was without getting too cheesy here, life changing . About two Summers ago Steve (from the Gits) contacted me inviting me to a Joan Jett show. Long story short, due to traffic I arrived too late to the concert. I was like a sad kid watching the show end and the concert clear out. I missed the show and missed getting backst...

At my 2nd Beatle Fair in San Diego (2000, I think) I was able to meet Louise Harrison , George Harrison's sister. My grandma's camera wasn't working right and the expression you see on me (the one that's almost totally flushed out) is of worry that the camera will not work. Thankfully it did, hence this picture.  Weird pasty face captured for a lifetime.  At Joey Ramone's birthday bash in 2011 I met Richie Ramone after the show. I wasn't ready for it, and I was totally stoned and concert high. I was so blazed, all I remember is he was way taller than I ever imagined. I look kind of Muppety.  My friends are I were at a Meet and Greet with Night Ranger in 2013. When I met them I felt compelled to shake all their hands and introduce myself. That went over fine. But when it came time for the picture, I apparently became a distracted toddler.  Don't dream it, be it.

I was lucky enough to be invited along to this year's Bone Bash 2013 on June 23rd! It all happened basically at the last minute, we drove down to the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. We had VIP Access which was my first time ever experiencing. It was a trip, VIP parking, line, bar, section, I had no idea it could be so fancy. Every time I've been to a concert before I had a good seat...but that was it. This was a real treat, and honestly a real last minute surprise. The concert included Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Stone Cherry, and Night Ranger. We had a meet and greet with Night Ranger! So many surprises that night I had no idea what was going to happen. It was a MUCH needed dose of live music. So we met Night Ranger, and got all these neat concert goodies like a poster, signed CD and guita...
